All new garages must be an automated parking system. In addition, all garage platforms must support electric vehicle charging even if at the rate of 150% of cost. This charge will be passed down to the operator of the vehicle using their NIN card to charge for services. The reason for an APS is to be able to stack automobiles above each other. It also eliminates the chance of vandalism since the person can not go beyond the platform space. With apartment buildings, there must be at least 1 space per premise. For commercial space, 150% of the capacity is required. This is to provide for enough space for the employee or visitor to have access to parking.
So, how will this work out? First, the operator drives into a platform area. If they will wish to pay for charging their vehicle, they will use the charging cable attached to the platform to plug into their automobile. This charging cable will be on the driver’s side which is where the charging plugs can be found – although it could reach to the front of the vehicle if need be. The operator will take everything they will need to take with them out of the vehicle, and obviously – this will include any living things.
The operator will then exit the platform, and use the control panel to log the vehicle to be taken. This will be done by using their NIN card. If the operator plugged their vehicle into the charger, this will be the card that will be billed for the service of charging in addition to any hourly rates the garage may charge as well. The operator will do whatever they will need to do. In the meantime, the vehicle will be stored away, and charging (if plugged in). The vehicle will sit in its space until the operator calls for the vehicle.
When the operator is ready to collect the vehicle, they will go to an empty platform unit, and use their NIN card to call for their vehicle. They will then see the price they will be charged, and since all businesses must support Kal-Pay, they can just use their ID card. However, they can choose another card to pay for charging and/or parking. Once the bill is paid for, the system will acquire the vehicle, and take it to the platform. The driver will unplug their charging cable, and exit the garage platform.
Advantages
There are a few advantages to using an automated parking system. All of these advantages will be profound in Kaldus as it will make the other parts of the automobile NSC requirements make sense. The advantages will far outweigh the learning curve that will otherwise have to be learned.
The first is safety and security. Gone will be the days a kidnapper will stalk their victim in a garage. There will be no vandalism as the person can not go beyond the platform unit. An automated system will take the platform the vehicle is on, and take it to a parking space within the building. This increases the safety of the operator, and the vehicle.
Next is space. One could store at least 2 times the number of vehicles that an older garage can support. This means an APS will be able to store 200 vehicles in the same footprint as an older garage that can store 100 vehicles. This is more profitability, and less demand for additional garages.
The last main advantage is charging. Since every platform has a charging cable, the operator can plug their vehicle in the charging platform, and their vehicle will charge while they are doing what they need to do. This makes the electric vehicle requirement (even plugin hybrids) a more viable solution. The operator does not need to plug in, but the choice will be there if they decide to do so.
