Simply put, gas will be considered as obsolete. Any renovation work will require the gas line to be removed, and the cooking, heating and hot water converted to electric. All new construction will not have a gas line unless there is an exception make (such as a back-up system in a hospital). For most homes, and many businesses, there will simply be no gas line. Once a gas line is removed from the location, the local gas provider will mark that location as no more gas, and gas service will not be turned on for any premise at that location.
